Caring for Your Mattress

Proper care will extend the life of your mattress and keep it comfortable for years. Follow these guidelines to maintain your investment.

Regular Maintenance

Rotate Your Mattress

  • Rotate 180 degrees (head to foot) every 3–6 months
  • This promotes even wear and prevents body impressions
  • Our mattresses do not need to be flipped — they have a designated sleep surface

Use a Mattress Protector

  • A quality waterproof protector shields against spills, stains, and dust mites
  • It helps maintain hygiene and extends mattress life
  • Choose a breathable protector that won't trap heat

Allow Airflow

  • Strip your bedding periodically and let the mattress air out
  • This helps dissipate moisture and keeps the mattress fresh
  • Avoid placing the mattress directly on the floor long-term

Cleaning Your Mattress

Spot Cleaning

  1. Blot — Don't rub — any spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth
  2. Mix a mild detergent solution with cool water
  3. Apply the solution sparingly to the affected area with a cloth
  4. Blot again with a clean, damp cloth to remove soap residue
  5. Air dry completely before making the bed

Deep Cleaning

  • Vacuum the mattress surface monthly using an upholstery attachment
  • Sprinkle baking soda on the surface, let sit for 30 minutes, then vacuum thoroughly
  • Never use harsh chemicals, bleach, or steam cleaners on the mattress

What to Avoid

  • Jumping on the bed — This can damage the internal structure
  • Bending or folding — Once unboxed, never attempt to re-compress the mattress
  • Excessive moisture — Always blot spills immediately and dry thoroughly
  • Direct sunlight — Prolonged sun exposure can break down foam materials

Signs It's Time for a New Mattress

  • Visible sagging or body impressions deeper than 1 inch
  • Waking up with aches and pains that go away during the day
  • Significant lumps or uneven surface
  • The mattress is beyond its expected lifespan (typically 8–10 years)

Tip: A quality mattress protector is the single best investment you can make to protect your mattress. We recommend using one from day one.
