Caring for Solid Wood Furniture
Solid wood is a natural material that responds to its environment. A few simple habits will keep your Megsu furniture strong and beautiful for years.

Everyday Cleaning
- Dust regularly with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth, following the direction of the grain
- Wipe spills immediately — Blot (don't rub) with a soft cloth, then dry the area completely
- For sticky spots, use a cloth lightly dampened with water and a drop of mild soap, then dry right away
- Avoid harsh chemicals, ammonia, bleach, abrasive pads and silicone-based polishes
Protect the Finish
- Use coasters, placemats and trivets under drinks, hot dishes and plants
- Lift objects instead of sliding them across the surface
- Use felt pads under lamps, decor and items with rough bases
Control Light, Heat & Humidity
- Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight, which can fade or darken wood over time
- Keep away from heat sources such as radiators, heaters, fireplaces and air vents
- Maintain stable humidity — Large swings can cause wood to swell, shrink or crack. A room humidity of roughly 35–55% is ideal
Keep It Sturdy
- Re-tighten bolts and screws a few weeks after assembly and every few months after that — wood naturally settles
- Respect weight capacities listed in your product's size guide
- Anchor dressers and tall storage to the wall using the included anti-tip hardware
Natural Wood Characteristics
Knots, grain patterns and slight color variations are part of what makes solid wood unique. Wood color may also mellow or deepen gradually with exposure to light — this is normal.
Tip: Rotate decor and table items every few months so sunlight ages the surface evenly.
